Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada

5pm. Monday, I begin my first big slide show tour, starting with two shows at Sussex Middle school, then one in the evening for a ladies group. I'll spend the night in Sackville with Amy, then in the morning, make arrangements to do a show there on the 27th at Mount Allison University. After that I'll head for Corner Brook, Newfoundland, where my friend Carolyn has made arrangements for me to do a show at the College of the North Atlantic, where she works as an advisor. The ferry across to The Rock(NFLD), is a 8 hour ride and very costly, so I contacted the service to ask for sponsorship, and quickly got a reply:

Dear Cory: I did take a quick look at your website. The world can always use a little good news. Young people, especially, should be encouraged to look at the endless possibilities that exist. Marine Atlantic will provide one way transportation to you plus your vehicle to assist with the cost of your presentation (approximate value $89.00). We do not require that you include our logo or links on your website. As far as your doing a presentation on our vessel, you should contact Neil Paterson to offer your slide show. I will copy the Reservations Manager and tell them to expect a call from Cory Richardson booking travel on November 21. When you call reservations at 1-800-341-798 please tell them that one way is complimentary. Best of luck on your efforts.

5:30pm The same day I arrive home from NFLD, I'll drive another 11 hours up to Montreal and stay the night with Stephan, a friend from the palapa days on Ilsa de Piedra, Mexico, then continue to a conference of The Institute for Earth Education in Waterloo, Ontario, where I'll do my show the next day. It's going to be a lot of driving, but I'm excited! On the way back, I'd liked to do shows in Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal, but I don't have anything set yet.

6:37pm I just sent off a request to do my show in Chicago, Illinois, USA, between February 21-24, at the IATOS 2002 Expo & World Congress on Adventure & Eco Tourism.

8pm At the Imperial Theater, I'm attending a Saint John Theater Company production of The Diary of Anne Frank.
